Line Game Redux

NOTE: Itch has a 1000 file in zip limit for their browser game player for no reason, so the version in browser is v0.8.5. To play v1.0, either download the installer or play on GameJolt or Newgrounds instead.

CONTROLS:

W, Up Arrow, Left Click ---- Move Up

S, Down Arrow, Right Click ---- Move Down

Space, Middle Click ---- Fire Shot (w/ powerup)

I recommend playing on Normal or Hard. Easy is very slow and Master is (probably?) impossible.

ABOUT:

I started working on this game way back in 2020. After about a year of working on it on and off, I eventually just stopped and never finished it, only checking on it a few times over the last 3 years. Today on a whim I decided to "finish" it, cleaning up most of the bugs and doing a lot of the unfinished things that don't take much time to add. The game doesn't have all the content I wanted it to, but it's finally gotten a public release.

I apologize for the terrible music! (even though I still like some of the tracks)

Missing content includes 2 more endless modes, a "Classic" mode, some music tracks, and different endings for each difficulty. I don't intend on actually finishing it anytime soon.

This game is based on a final I did for Computer Science in my senior year of highschool (hence "Redux") in Snap!, it's a lot better than that one at least. I do intend on eventually doing a "Line Game Redux Deluxe" but that'll probably be a long time from now if ever.

CHEATS:

To enable cheats, click on the red star on the first Title Screen.

H ---- Invincibility

V ---- Skip to end of game

U ---- Unlock All Buttons in Menu

You're on the rails! Teleport between lines to avoid many unique types of enemies, and fight the boss at the end, with 4 difficulties! There's also 3 endless mode options and a Classic mode that recreates the original Snap! version with no new added content.

Line Game Redux is a majorly improved version of a game I made in 2019 in Snap! for a final in high school. While this version is free, there are still plenty of extra stuff I want to add eventually, and I'll probably sell that version on Steam for 3 bucks or something.
